I have lived in the village of Canton for over 10 years and for the past 6 months or so I have been having a problem with the water. I noticed that there were heavy deposits on my dishes when I unloaded my dishwasher. I have never had a problem before and I thought that my dishwasher must be on its way out. I looked on line to see what the problem may be and there were several sites that suggested using less soap and trying to remove the deposits with white vinegar. My glassware is heavily etched from these deposits. I tried this and it helped a little but I am still having a problem. We spoke to someone at the water department and we were told that there is a lot of calcium in the water. Why SO much all of a sudden? I question how much damage is being done to our pipes and appliances since there are noticeable deposits on the faucets that don’t come off. I have had to throw away so many dishes and silverware because they cannot be salvaged. I also have to question whether or not it is necessary to take calcium supplements with all this excessive calcium.
