It is Girl Scout cookie time and as much as I love to support the girls that come knocking on my door, I would like to offer a different suggestion. The scouts only get to keep between .50 and .60 cents per box of cookies sold (at $3.50). Instead of purchasing cookies, please think of writing a check to the girl’s troop, this way 100% of the proceeds go to the troop and they can use those funds locally. Or, buy one box of cookies and give the other $3.50 in check, this way the girls are still eligible for the prizes, but the troop still gets a larger amount of funds. Thanks for thinking about this.
