OGDENSBURG – RiverLedge residents Doris Cuthbert and Beatrice Hartmann, in the photo above, recently took advantage of the soothing character of the gardens at the Ogdensburg nursing home.
The gardens are also a source of nutrition.
The five garden beds are a mixture of ornamental plants, herbs, and vegetable crops including squash, pumpkins, tomatoes, onions, radishes, and cucumbers.
Residents enjoy eating the vegetables fresh from the garden in salads and home-made salsa.
The variety of plant textures, forms, and colors is also soothing to the eye, which attracts wildlife, residents, family members, visitors, and staff alike.
