Well, another annual fire convention down. A big applause should be given to the members of the Louisville Fire Department for a job well done. Not to nitpick, however, it is disheartening to see the lack of participation in the convention parade by the fire departments of this county. There are 41 fire departments in this county and only a handful of them were at the parade. It is realized that today there are many time constraints on the volunteers and their departments, and, commitments must be carefully considered. However, if a department could not muster enough members to march in the parade, then, at least a truck could be sent. Departments rely on each other, a show of support is important, even if only in a parade.
