Let's face some reality here: This person can afford to build a $1.2 million, according to the July 6-12 article “Potsdam Trustees Consider Building Permit Cost,” and they want to give this guy a break of nearly $10,000 in permit fees? Why? How does this make sense? If he gets a break, everyone has to get the same break! Otherwise it's totally unfair! Something is pretty rotten here. What will he get in tax breaks? A PILOT-like program maybe? What other offerings will he be asking for? And then policies will be changed to accommodate him? There's a long list of things he could get this way. Something really stinks here and it's not fair since none of us can ask for the same deal. If they do this, they are going to be digging their hole much deeper and wider. I say no.
