As I was getting ready to attend the funeral of the Norwood man killed in the recent car accident, I was dismayed to see your article with the headline that he had been seen leaving a local tavern (“Norfolk Rollover Victim was in Tavern Before Accident, Witness Tells Police” NorthCountryNow.com, Tuesday, May 10). So because he was leaving this establishment, it is assumed that he was drinking? Is it not possible that people can go to taverns and have a soda and enjoy the company of others? Was he drinking, I don’t know. I wasn’t there. If he had been seen leaving church, would your headlines have stated this fact? Were you, or your witnesses aware of his medical problems? What happened, happened. We can’t change the outcome. However, please be considerate in your reporting for the ones that are left behind. Let the man and his family have some dignity and let them grieve in peace. May you or your family/friends never have to go through this experience.
