I would like to take this opportunity to respond to “Use Dog Leashes” (Jan. 12-18). I enjoy being out in the woods and, because of where I live, I am able to do this almost every day. Although I do not know where Higley Flow State Park is, I have heard of it and have thought it would be fun to check out the park’s trails. However, after reading your post in Sound Off, it is my sincerest hope that I never have to set foot in this park. I will continue to explore other areas without the need for a noose. Oops, I’m sorry. Leash, as you like to call it. Lastly, I must protest your speciesist slur, “…leave fido at home.” Such demeaning epithets are unnecessary. Despite this, I remain your faithful servant and best friend.
