Combining Canton SUNY and Potsdam SUNY would be just crazy. Both are good schools with a different path in place. I hear that the reason is due to the State of New York’s financial woes. Well, I can’t help but wonder if the woes are such, why is the state DOT spending tons of money on both labor (at least 6 at a time are doing the improved version of the NY State shovel lean) and materials repaving the downtown section of Canton that is just going to be torn up next year when the DOT turns Canton into what they did in the village of Norwood? Think that the amount being spent would cover the salary of a SUNY college president for a couple of years running? With private schools tuition rapidly increasing, it seems as though SUNY has the incredible chance for open doors to lots of applicants, thus lots of money for both the colleges and the surrounding towns. Will the madness ever end?
