Maybe the whiners at the Canton School district should take a look around at the other schools in St. Lawrence County. They are all in some degree of financial trouble, Some school administrators have been more on the ball than Canton’s and planned ahead for these budget shortfalls by cutting some of the extracurricular activities. Poor planning on Canton School’s part. Many schools have cut junior varsity sports and field trips for example. And aren’t the Canton District teachers among the few in the county that don’t contribute to their health insurance? The day has arrived when you just can’t have it all and expect someone else to pay for it. Also, how about a donation from that massive, tax exempt, multi-million dollar industry that sucks resources from the community and gives nothing back to Canton - you know it as St. Lawrence University!
