MADRID -- Wendy Vice (Rupert) passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital surrounded by friends and family. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid with burial to follow in the Madrid Cemetery.

Wendy was a caring and loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. Her son Brandon gave her life meaning and purpose. She spent her entire life working with the elderly in several nursing homes with her final venture working as an LPN at St. Regis Nursing home in Massena. Wendy often joked about how skilled she was at playing Candy Crush... often beating levels before the next levels were even ready! She was one of the funniest people we knew, making us laugh every day, it was dry and sarcastic but if you knew Wendy you expected it. Even in her final days she always made sure her hair was on point.

Wendy is survived by her son, Brandon; brothers and sisters, Tracey Rupert and Pat Love, Jim and Brenda Rupert, Greg Rupert and fianc Lisa Payne, Shannon Pryce and her partner Ted Brazie, Becky Rupert and her wife Melanie Wilson; several nieces, nephews, friends and her furry companion, Stripey. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Donald and Leona Rupert.

Wendy, we love you so very much and we will miss you every day....Word! (because that's what the girls at work would say). Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid.
