OGDENSBURG -- A Celebration of Life Service for Timothy J. McCabe, 59, owner of the Freight House Restaurant of Ogdensburg, will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Freight House Restaurant with Deacon Mark Lalonde officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, also at the Freight House. Arrangements are entrusted to the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
Surviving is his mother, Joan McCabe of Binghamton; his longtime partner, Debbie Janson of Ogdensburg; two sons, Timothy McCabe Jr. and his wife Jessica of Highland Falls, and Jason McCabe of Oswego; daughters Meghan Rilley and her husband James of Newburg, Erin McCabe and her husband Christian Martinez of Dover, Del., and Caitlin Morgan and her husband Keith of Ogdensburg; two step-sons, Dustin Dain of Peekskill, and Jeremy Janson of Highland Falls; a brother, John McCabe Jr. and his wife Melissa of Naples; grandchildren Kyla McCabe, Tierney McCabe, Liam Rilley, Neve Rilley, Aaralyn Martinez and Christian Martinez, along with nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, John McCabe, his first, wife Nancy McCabe, and a sister, Jennifer Anderson.
Tim was born on May 31, 1958 in Cornwall, NY, the son of John and Joan (Haggerty) McCabe. He graduated from Cornwall High School, and later married Nancy O’Dell. She predeceased him in 1994.
During his career he was employed at West Point Military Academy as an executive chef, and later moved to Ogdensburg where he became the owner of the Freight House Restaurant. He and his partner Debbie, have operated the restaurant since 2004.
Tim enjoyed the restaurant business, collecting trains, listening to music, his 1971 Dodge Charger, antique muscle cars, fishing and spending time with his family.
