STAR LAKE -- Mr. Robert E. LaBrake Jr., 55, peacefully entered into rest on Monday afternoon, January 1, 2018 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Robert was born March 6, 1962 in Canton, the son of the late Robert E. Sr. and Gladys (LaVoy) LaBrake.
He attended schools in Tupper Lake and was previously employed at Big Tupper Ski Area and Spa Steel.
Robert married Susan M. Hinkson June 6, 1981 which ended in divorce. Robert also held a long-term relationship with Marlene Farnsworth for which they raised their children together.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and just tinkering around. Robert loved his family and friends dearly and cherished the time spent with them.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Crystal Brito of Puerto Rico, Burt West of Star Lake, Velvet Palmer of Newton Falls, JulieAnn and Adam Wilson of Norfolk, Jessica and Gordon Lalonde Jr. of Suffolk, Virginia; Nina and Derek Laplante of Tupper Lake, and Robert E. LaBrake III of Star Lake; 14 grandchildren; his step-mother, Agnes LaBrake of Canton; his sisters, Linda LaBrake (Frank) of Elmira, Roberta and Fred Phillips of Lakeview; his brothers, Paul Gagnon of Austin Texas; John and Shelia Gagnon of Madrid; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; his companion Kathy, his dog Diamond and his bird Jerry.
Robert was predeceased by his loving uncle Corbin LaVoy and his beloved dogs.
Friends and Family may call Friday, January 5, from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. D. Richard Will, Officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Crary Mills Cemetery.
