OGDENSBURG -- Mr. Paul Richard Fields, age 88, of Deviller Street, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at his home.
There will be no funeral services or calling hours per his request.
Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home.
Paul is survived by his beloved fiancé of forty years, Aggie Thomas of Ogdensburg; her daughter, Sally Gilbo; and her two grandchildren, Suzanne Kelley and Bill Williams; two sons, Dennis Fields and his wife, Sandy, of Zionsville, Indiana and Daniel Fields and his wife, Renee, of Ogdensburg; and their children, Joseph Fields and Lacey Beldock; three daughters, Patricia Fields of Lisbon, Diana Dettmer and her husband, Paul, of Ogdensburg, and Karen Brouillette and her husband, Robert, of Ogdensburg; multiple grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother, Howard Fields and his wife, Dolores, of Belfast; a sister, Julia Washburn of Belfast; his care taker, Jody Frye; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Wallace Briggs; a sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Edward Simmons; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Muriel Fields.
Paul was born on March 18, 1929, in Belfast, the son of Daniel S.P. and Harriett Histed Fields.
He graduated from Belfast High School.
Paul married Jean Dawley on March 20, 1951, that marriage ended in divorce.
Paul was inducted into the United States Army Ready Reserves on April 18, 1951 and transferred to Army Reserve on April 5, 1953. Mr. Fields was honorably discharged on March 22, 1957, at the rank of Private First Class.
Paul was employed as an aide for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg and operated Remington Rand Typewriter in Sales and Service.
Paul enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He was also a past Governor of the Moose Lodge.
