Morris “Sandy” Gross, age 75, of Macomb, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Sandy was born on June 8, 1934 in New Haven, CT. He was the son of the late Meyer and Catherine (Price) Gross. He graduated from the Hartford High School in Connecticut and completed two years of college education. Sandy served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953.

Mr. Gross married Carol L. Larson on October 12, 1962 in Millerton NY. The couple had lived in Hartford and Enfield, CT, and Vermont before moving to Macomb in 1981. Mrs. Gross passed away on February 20, 2003.

Sandy worked as a multi-craft instructor for Fort Drum until his retirement in 1999. He loved making and wearing fine jewelry and was considered a very talented metal worker. In recent years, Sandy enjoyed traveling and computers. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed teasing people and was a great story teller.

His survivors include his daughter and her husband, Lynne L. Gross and Bryan Owczarzak of North Tonawanda; his son and his wife, Michael J. and Tara Gross of Painted Post; his fiancée, Susan Cameron of Potsdam; and two grandsons, Jesse Michael and Gabriel Quinn.

There will be visitation at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Saturday, May 29th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
