Lavina H. Typhair, age 70, of Edwards, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Lavina was born on November 23, 1939 in Edwards to the late Lester G. and Eloise (Van House) Javall. She graduated from Edwards Central School in 1957 and went on to graduate from Watertown Business School in 1959.
Lavina married Charles E. Typhair on October 25, 1961 at the South Edwards Methodist Church with Rev. Cameron officiating. She worked as a secretary for the Edwards Central School and then the Edwards Knox Central School retiring in 2000. She has lived in Edwards all of her life and is a member of the Star Lake Hospital Auxillary and the South Edwards United Methodist Church.
Lavina is survived by her husband, Charles E. Typhair of Edwards; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tracy E. Typhair of Edwards and Shawn J. and Renee Typhair of Edwards; a stepson and his wife, Jeff and Maryanne LaSiege of Newburg, three grandchildren, Miranda, Walker and Rylee Typhair.
She is predeceased by a son Charles L. Typhair who passed away in 1995.
Calling hours will be on Monday, June 21 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Edwards. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11a.m. at the funeral home with lay speakers Marilyn Constantine and William Strate officiating. Burial will follow at the South Edwards Cemetery.
