Hazel M. Mastine, 76, Ogdensburg

Funeral services for Hazel M. Mastine, age 76, of 518 East South Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Saturday, June 04, 2011 at Notre Dame Church at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Mastine passed away on June 1, 2011 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Mastine is survived by two sons, Joseph and James “Ron”, both of Ogdensburg; three granddaughters, Alicia Crossman and her husband, Benjamin of Ogdensburg, Charity Amo and her husband Jon, of Ogdensburg, and Sarah Bouchey and her husband Christopher of FL; one grandson, Matthew Mastine of Ogdensburg; two great grandchildren, Cameron Crossman and Gavin Amo; and one sister, Beverly Perrin of Ontario.

She was predeceased by two sons, John Mastine at infancy and Rodney “Babe” Mastine in 1997; and one brother, Lawrence Davis in 1972.

Mrs. Mastine was born on August 26, 1934 in Brockville, Canada, the daughter of Kenneth and Sarah Davis Butterimore. She graduated from North Augusta High school. She married James Mastine of which ended in divorce. She worked for Ames Department Store for over 36 years until its closing. She later worked for Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in food service catering for 12 years, retiring in 2009.

Mrs. Mastine was a member of the Ogdensburg Women City Club. Mrs. Mastine enjoyed shopping, cooking and her three dogs.
