OGDENSBURG -- Funeral services for Geraldine S. Armano, age 92, of Adams Ave., will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.
Interment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral services of Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
Mrs. Armano passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Riverledge Nursing Home.
Geraldine is survived by one son, Michael Armano of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Rita Armano, of Alexandria Bay; a sister, Patricia Merria of Ogdensburg; and four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Armano in 2003; and a sister, Helene A. Lucchetti, in 1994.
Geraldine was born on February 4, 1925, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Arthur W. and Marion Graveline Spooner.
She attended Holy Cross School and graduated from High School.
Geraldine met her husband, Nicholas J. Armano, while he was stationed in Ogdensburg for the U.S. Coast Guard after several dates at the local roller rink. She married Nicholas on August 16, 1944, at Notre Dame Church with Rev. P. Leon Legault officiating. He predeceased her on August 8, 2010.
Geraldine was a sales clerk at the Surprise Store in Ogdensburg for fourteen years in the dress department.
Geraldine enjoyed playing cards, listening to audio books and spending time at camp with her husband.
Mrs. Armano enjoyed bowling in the couple’s league and skating at the roller rink on Lake Street in her younger years.
