BRASHER -- A Winthrop man accused of possessing child pornography in November was jailed Wednesday afternoon following an order of protection complaint first reported to state police Nov. 22.
Richard B. Giles was charged with first-degree criminal contempt at 12:05 p.m., troopers said.
Police said a 27-year-old female from Winthrop alleges she received roughly three phone calls from Giles while he was incarcerated at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
An order of protection issued by Stockholm Town Court barred Giles from having contact with the alleged victim at the time, troopers said.
Giles was reportedly arrested upon his release from the jail for previous charges of possessing child porn and forcible touching.
He was arraigned at Canton Village Court and reportedly held on cash bail.
