POTSDAM -- A Winthrop man was jailed Sunday morning on criminal tampering and resisting arrest charges, according to Potsdam police.
He was charged with a second unnecessary noise charge and three other charges while police attempted to release him at the Potsdam Police Department.
When police released Reynolds, he continued to yell obscenities outside of the department and was told that he would be arrested again if he did not stop, officers said. He then allegedly began yelling at officers.
When police attempted to take him into custody, Reynolds resisted arrest, police said.
While in the processing room, Reynolds refused to cooperate with processing procedure, resulting in a obstruction of governmental administration charge.
Officers said while paperwork was being completed for arraignment, an officer offered Reynolds water, which he accepted. Reynolds then took the cup of water and threw it at the officer and the electronic fingerprinting computer terminal, leading to a criminal tampering charge.
He was also cited for unnecessary noise for a second time, officers said.
Reynolds was arraigned by Norfolk Town Justice Brubee and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on $1,500 bail or $2,000 bond and is to answer the charges Aug. 4 in Potsdam court.
