Winthrop man charged with unlawful imprisonment for allegedly restraining girlfriend

WINTHROP – Norfolk-based State Police arrested James E. Markes, 65, 14B Reservation St., Winthrop, for second-degree unlawful imprisonment following a domestic incident at his residence at which time he allegedly physically restrained his live-in girlfriend when she attempted to leave their residence.

He was arraigned in the Town of Hopkinton Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Stockholm Court on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
