Winter weather advisory in effect through 3 p.m. St. Lawrence County; isolated power outages possible

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for St. Lawrence County through 3 p.m. today with the heaviest snowfall having took place during the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Travel will be difficult today, especially on back roads, and motorists are advised to allow for extra time when traveling.

Isolated power outages are possible, NWS says.

Snow will continue to the early afternoon hours with a high near 33 degrees, forecasters say. Total daytime snow accumulation is 2-4 inches.

Snow showers are likely again this evening with less than inch of snow accumulation expected, the service says.

There is a chance of snow Saturday before noon, then a chance of rain showers between noon and 3 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers after 3 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Expect a high near 37.

The forecast through Thanksgiving Day is as follows:

A chance of rain and snow showers before noon, then a chance of rain showers between noon and 3pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday Night

A 40 percent chance of snow showers before 5am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 19. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 28. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

Sunday Night

A 40 percent chance of light snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. South wind 3 to 6 mph.

Monday

A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
