CANTON -- New York Lottery officials say a winner has yet to come forward and claim a $1 million winning ticket that was sold at Canton’s Nice N’ Easy, 58 Main St.
New York Lottery spokesperson Christy Calicchia said its not unusual for winners to delay claiming such a substantial sum.
“Lots of times, people want to talk with financial advisors, or meet with their accountant or consult an attorney … seek advice,” she said.
Calicchia said the ticketholder has one year from the drawing date to claim their winnings.
The Power Ball ticket was a second prize drawn on Sept. 20.
There was no winner drawn for a $196 million jackpot.
