POTSDAM -- A well-known Potsdam man who is a former dean of students SUNY Potsdam will celebrate 60 years of marriage with his with wife on Sept. 1.
Daniel and Jane Hurley, originally from Colton and Carthage respectively, met as undergraduate students at SUNY Potsdam and married in 1956 in Carthage.
They have five children: Jo Anne Weaver, Susan Hurley-Glowa, Carol Hurley, Stephen Hurley, and Philip Hurley.
They Hurleys also have seven grandchildren and three great grandsons.
“Dan was a popular administrator at SUNY Potsdam until he retired, and Jane taught kindergarten at St. Mary’s School for many years,” their daughter Susan Hurley-Glowa said in an email.
They have lived Leroy Street in the same house since 1959.
Still active in college and church events, Dan is also a passionate Potsdam golfer and sportsman, and Jane enjoys outings with the Red Hats Society, visiting with her extended family, and reading.
“Please congratulate them on sixty years of successful matrimony,” Hurley-Glowa said.
