Skies will become mostly cloudy tonight, although sun is expected to return tomorrow with mostly sunny conditions. The temperature Tuesday is expected to warm considerably, up to about 37, coming in on southerly breezes.

The National Weather Service believes the next chance of light precipitation will occur by Thursday as a weak cold front swings into the region.

The milder temperatures are then expected to continue right into next weekend with a lengthy January thaw looking more and more likely, the NWS predicts.

• Wednesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 41. Southwest wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

• Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Southwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

• Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 34.

• Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
