A warm front will lift across the North Country and bring widespread snow showers through this evening, along with much warmer temperatures and breezy south winds, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Snow showers will leave about 1 to 2 inches of fresh snow throughout the day on top of an inch or two that fell overnight across most of St. Lawrence County, forecasters say.
The high today will be 34 degrees with an overnight low of 23, the service says.
Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high near 27.
Expect a significant warming trend as we head into the later portions of the week.
By the end of the week a system will bring a chance of mixed precipitation leading to rain and then back to snow by the weekend, NWS says.
The forecast through the weekend is as follows:

Partly sunny, with a high near 27. West wind 8 to 11 mph.
Tuesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 11. South wind 3 to 6 mph.
Wednesday
A 30 percent chance of showers after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. South wind 5 to 7 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night
A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
Thursday
A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 49. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph.
