POTSDAM -- Village Trustee Maggie McKenna told the village board Monday that she is serving as interim executive director of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, at least through the village’s annual Summer Festival next month.
She is serving because John Morrrison has resigned to accept a position with the Diocese of Ogdensburg. He was hired in March to replace long-time director Marylee Ballou, who has moved on to a new position.
McKenna said she checked with the New York Council of Mayors to see if there was any conflict of interest while she serves as chamber director and as a village trustees, and she said NYCON assured her there was none due to the non-profit nature of the chamber.
