POTSDAM – A Moira motorist struck an Amish buggy early Sunday evening on NYS Hwy. 11, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies said a vehicle operated by George Manning, 33, of Moira crossed the white line and hit the buggy driven by John H. Glick, 39 of 66 Brooklyn Rd., North Lawrence.
Manning was ticketed for moving from lane unsafely.
There were no reports of injuries to the buggy passengers or horse.
However, a NorthCountryNow.com viewer who said they had visited the Glicks at home following the crash said the Glicks were "very much feeling the effects of being hit and the buggy is very much destroyed. The horse so far seems to be fine, but who knows -- it can not talk to say where it may be having pain."
