CANTON – A Hermon man and his two grandchildren escaped uninjured after their vehicle overturned Friday on NYS Hwy. 310, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
A 2001 Chevrolet Blazer operated by Jerome W. Sawyer, 63, of County Route 20, Hermon, went off the road shortly before 4:18 p.m., struck a mailbox and overturned in the roadway, deputies said.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Canton Fire and Rescue and the Morley Fire Department.
Sawyer was ticketed for failure to maintain lane and is face the charge in Canton Town Court at a later date, deputies said.
