MASSENA – A two-week-old kitten was saved from a fire that completely destroyed a mobile home at 162 Hall Road at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The property is owned by Sebrina Hickey, Oklahoma, who was reportedly in the proces of selling it to her brother, Harold L. Petke, who was allegedly not in the building at the time of the fire, according to St. Lawrence County Fire Investigators.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
The Massena Fire Department and Rescue Squad, aided by the Helena and Hogansburg Fire Departments were on the scene until 5:39 a.m. There were no injuries, and investigators say firefighters were able to rescue the kitten.
