OGDENSBURG -- Two city residents are are charged with meth-making and needle charges, one of whom is being held without bail according to Ogdensburg police.
Scott A. Cole, 49, of 511 Elizabeth St. Apt. 1 is charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felony, police said.
Michael L. Vernsey, 32, same address, is charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Detectives said police raided the apartment on Thursday. An investigation into drug sales and meth-making led them to getting a search warrant, according to Det. Sgt. Robert Westcott.
Police found meth-making components and a state police contaminated crime scene response team was called in, Westcott said. He said other responding agencies were St. Lawrence County’s Drug Task Force, including members of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the Gouverneur Village Police Department and the New York State Police.
Each were arraigned in Ogdensburg City Court.
Vernsey is being held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, without bail due to two prior felony convictions, police said.
Cole was released under probationary supervision, according to police.
