CANTON -- Two people from Ogdensburg who were found Wednesday morning asleep in a pickup truck allegedly obstructing traffic on a state highway have been charged, one with aggravated unlicensed operation and the other with criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies were called at about 8:30 a.m. to State Rt. 68 near the Jones Road intersection following complaints of a 2000 Ford Ranger parked partially in the westbound lane so that drivers had to move into the opposing lane to get around the truck.
Deputies found Louis R. LaFlair, 38, of 1157 Cty. Rt. 4 and Kimberly R. LaRude, 30, of Albany Avenue, asleep in the truck.
Deputies said LaFlair's license was suspended and LaRue had a hypodermic needle, and charged them with one misdemeanor count each for their respective offenses.
Both were issued appearance tickets for Canton Town Court on Dec. 30.
