PIERCEFIELD – Two people who had been missing since Wednesday were found Friday and charged with burglary.

Carl R. Burns Jr., 41, of Broad Street, Tupper Lake and Angela I. Roberts, 23, Park Street, Tupper Lake, were both charged with third-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into a seasonal camp in the town of Piercefield.

Burns also was charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree menacing for an incident in the town of Tupper Lake on Wednesday, according to police.

Both were arraigned in town of Piercefield Court on the burglary charges.

Roberts was released to return on a later date.

Burns was turned over to state police to be arraigned in the town of Tupper Lake court for the additional charges. He was sent to the Franklin County Jail on $50,000 bail.

A stolen Jeep was also recovered in the town of Piercefield, but the owners, relatives of Burns', declined prosecution. The handgun that was also stolen from the Lindsey Avenue burglary has not been recovered.

Roberts was found by a passing motorist walking on Conifer Road in the town of Piercefield, St. Lawrence County, Thursday evening. She was taken to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where she was treated and then released, according to police.

A ground and aerial search Friday morning found the Jeep, stolen from the scene of burglary on Lindsey Avenue in Tupper Lake, in a remote area. An extended search found Burns in apparent good health.

New York State Police, Tupper Lake Village Police Department, New York State Forest Rangers and DEC Police have been working in conjunction with the Franklin County District Attorney's Office.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
