POTSDAM -- A person was allegedly groped by two men wearing bandanas on Sunday, Jan. 31, according to college spokeswoman Alexandra Jacobs Wilke.
The incident reportedly took place around 7 p.m. in the Bowman Hall southeast stairwell, according to information given to SUNY Potsdam University Police
Two unknown males wearing bandanas grabbed and groped an individual in the stairwell, Jacobs said. The victim has been provided medical treatment and support services.
The suspects are described as being two white males of average height, both with brown eyes, with one having blonde hair and the other having brown hair. The suspects were described as wearing all black, including black gloves. Each suspect wore a bandana (one yellow and one red), covering their face from the nose down.
“SUNY Potsdam takes all reports of campus incidents and safety concerns very seriously,” she said.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact University Police at 267-2222, or via an anonymous online witness form, at http://www.potsdam.edu/studentlife/safety/incidentreporting/witnessform.cfm.
“University Police provides safety escorts, as well as night guides, during evening hours, for anyone who feels unsafe walking to and from campus,” Jacobs said. “Everyone is encouraged to exercise caution by walking in pairs in well-lit areas.”
Students, faculty and staff are urged to take note the location of the 28 blue light and 86 emergency red phones across campus, and save the phone number of University Police, 315-267-2222, in your cell phone.
