OGDENSBURG -- Two men were charged Tuesday with felonies after being found in possession of weapons while incarcerated, according to state police.
Jesus Carrasquillo, 27, was charged at 8:05 a.m. with first-degree possession of dangerous prison contraband and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon: previous conviction, troopers said.
He was found in possession of a pen cap with a half-inch razor protruding from the end while incarcerated at the New York State Riverview Correctional Facility, troopers said.
His status was listed as held.
Troopers said they also charged Shirwyn C. Joseph, 34, with first-degree possession of dangerous prison contraband and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon: previous conviction, all felonies, troopers said.
He allegedly possessed two cutting weapons inside his sock.
Troops said further investigation revealed the object was a folder metal can lid fashioned into a cutting or stabbing weapon and another sharp weapon made out of a pen. The pen had two sharpened metal pieces embedded into the barrel of the pen protruding approximately 5/8th of an inch from the end.
His status was listed as held.
