OGDENSBURG – A man from Ogdensburg and a woman from Watertown have been arrested on drug charges stemming from alleged crack cocaine sales in Ogdensburg.

The city police Narcotics Enforcement Unit reports the arrest of Rose M. Miller, 26, of 1620 Huntington Street, Apartment M1, Watertown, on Jan. 11, and of Tyree T. Gilliam, 39, of 1111 South Water St., Ogdensburg, on Jan. 14, both arrests by Watertown City Police on a St. Lawrence County Court Indictment warrant.

They were charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both offenses are Class B felonies.

A charge of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance is for up to half an ounce of the drug, and the possession charge is for more than half an ounce. Each count and is punishable by one to nine years in prison.

They were arraigned separately in St. Lawrence County Court before County Court Judge Jerome Richards.

Miller was released under the supervision of the probation department, and Gilliam was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.

Both are accused of selling crack cocaine in the City of Ogdensburg. The lengthy investigation “is part of our agencies’ relentless pursuit of out of town entities trafficking illegal drugs into our community,” said Ogdensburg Police Det. Daniel Mousaw.

The investigation continues and further arrests are possible, Mousaw said.

The Ogdensburg Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit was assisted in these arrests by the Watertown Police Department and Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force.
