PARISHVILLE -- State police have arrested a Hopkinton man who had been considered armed and dangerous.

On Aug. 15, state police with a warrant searched Molella’s home in Hopkinton on Elliot Road. Police say they discovered the entrance to Molella’s residence was booby trapped with a firearm to go off upon the door opening. No injuries resulted from this discovery. However, troopers seized several firearms, ammunition, as well as over a half pound of marijuana. Molella left the area prior to execution of the search warrant and evaded efforts of law enforcement to locate and arrest him on the charges resulting from the search warrant, troopers said.

On Oct. 17, investigators obtained information that lead troopers and U.S. Marshals to execute a federal search warrant at the residence on Catherineville Road in the town of Parishville. Molella was located there and arrested without incident, troopers said.

He was arraigned in Hopkinton Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond with orders to re-appear Friday at 10 a.m., troopers said.
