AKWESASNE -- The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe will suspend the operation of the recycling depot effective April 23.
After that date, recyclables will no longer be accepted there.
"This measure is to ensure the safety of community members, motorists and the construction workers who are modifying the roadway at the State Route 37 business park road intersection," the tribe said in a news release.
While services are suspended at this location, community members can dispose of their recyclables at the tribe’s Solid Waste Transfer Station, 179 County Route 43, Fort Covington. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gate closes at 2:45 p.m.
