MASSENA -- Three people are jailed following an alleged home invasion on Sunday afternoon.

Jordan P. Deshane, 20, of Woodlawn Ave., Michael J. Labarr, 17, of State Rte. 95, Bombay and Devin J. Riley, 21, of Douglas Road, Massena are all charged with felony counts of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny. Riley is also charged with resisting arrest.

According to documents filed with Massena Village Court, they broke into 250 Main St. Apt. 1 around 12:15 p.m. Sunday. Riley allegedly brandished a handgun. According to statements two of the suspects gave to police, it was a BB gun. The two others carried baseball bats, according to court documents.

While inside the house, they took a flatscreen TV, modem, router, Roku box stick, DVD player and two black BB handguns, court documents said.

The statements contain different versions of why they broke into the house.

According to a statement from Labarr, it was over a drug deal gone bad.

Riley told police he believed one of the residents there had stolen a phone and $175 from Labarr.

While arresting Riley and one of the other two, Inv. Jason Olson had to draw his weapon, according to Acting Police Chief Adam Love.

"He (Riley) came out of 109 Bishop. At that point, he had committed a robbery with a weapon. He had his hands in his waistband and was not complying with Jason’s orders," Love said, explaining why Olson initially drew his gun. "People started coming out of the houses and people were swarming him. He called for assistance and at that point, the two he was arresting took off.

"They were threatening to kill him. He was being circled by people in that area until other patrols arrived and people dispersed."

Love said he wasn't sure which of the other two were at the Bishop Avenue residence.

He says some members of the crowd could face charges.

"Our investigation is continuing with possible further charges," Love said.

Riley, Labarr and Deshane were all arraigned in Massena Village Court by Justice Eric Gustafson.

All three are being held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, pending another appearance in court.

Bail for Riley and Labarr was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, police said.

Deshane's was set at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond, court documents said.
