HANNAWA FALLS -- Three people were hurt in an accident Sunday on the Back Hannawa Road between Hannawa Falls and Potsdam.
State police got the call to the scene at 5:27 p.m., at the intersection with the South Canton Road.
Troopers said that Samuel W. Thayer, 21, of Clarkson Ave., at the Potsdam end of the Back Hannawa Road, was northbound when he lost control on slippery pavement and crossed into the opposing lane, hitting head-on a second vehicle driven by Hannah L. Jeror, 16, of 59 Duane St., St. Regis Falls.
Both drivers plus a passenger in the second car were taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital with what troopers report were non-life-threatening injuries.
Thayer had the most serious injury, troopers said, with a leg injury after being pinned in the wreckage. He was extricated by the Potsdam Fire Department.
