MORRISTOWN -- Two teens and a man were charged by St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies with stealing a car from a residence on Center Street in Massena after they crashed it several hours later in Morristown, deputies said.
Johnnie M. Eldridge, 34, of 52 Maple St., Massena is charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny and misdemeanors of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
Christopher A. Lanning, 17, of 401 Haig Rd., Madrid and Austin R. Miller, 16, of 8 James St., Massena are each charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.
Eldridge was arraigned in Massena Village Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Lanning and Miller are to appear in Massena Village Court on a later date.
Deputies said they were assisted at the scene by state troopers and DEC police.
