WINTHROP -- Two automated teller machines were stolen in Winthrop in the past week and New York State Police in Massena are asking for the public's help in their investigation.
Both burglaries involved the theft of ATMs from inside the stores.
The first burglary occurred during the early morning hours of Dec. 6, at the Village Market on U.S. 11 in the town of Stockholm.
The second burglary occurred in the early morning hours of December 14, at B & W Quick Stop on St. Rt. 11C in the town of Brasher.
The State Police ask that anyone with information regarding these burglaries to contact them at 379-0012.
Troopers are also advises merchants of businesses that contain ATMs to take extra measures to secure them and ensure the surveillance equipment in their businesses is operating properly.
