POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam’s Residence Life staff will receive instruction in fire safety and crisis management through a collaboration with fire department officials and first responders on Thursday, Aug. 26.
Nearly 100 resident assistants and resident directors for the college’s dormitories will undergo a fire safety program Thursday on the SUNY Potsdam campus.
State fire inspector Chris Taylor and firefighters from the Potsdam Fire Department will give a presentation about safety before testing the students’ skills in extinguishing live fires and searching for residents in smoke-filled dorm rooms. The staff will also inspect a dorm room filled with fire safety violations.
