CANTON -- SUNY Canton's newest bachelor's degree will offer specialized knowledge and training for students seeking careers in the childcare field.
The bachelor of business administration in early childhood care and management degree builds on the college's associate of science in early childhood studies degree. It offers courses related to child development, curriculum planning, program administration, leadership and business management.
The Early Childhood Care and Management program was recently approved by the New York State Education Department and the State University of New York.
The new program combines theory and practice for students seeking careers working with children from infancy to 5 years of age. It also has an emphasis on developing entrepreneurial skills.
The program will be offered in person and through online courses. Enrollment will begin in fall 2018 and include freshmen, transfer and SUNY Canton graduates. Childcare professionals can continue their education through SUNY Canton OnLine without interrupting their established careers.
Those interested can apply for admission into the four-year program immediately, with courses to begin in fall 2018.
For more information, or to inquire about the application process, contact the SUNY Canton Office of Admissions: (315) 386-7123, admissions@canton.edu.
