CANTON – SUNY Canton junior midfielder Emily Bush of the women’s soccer team has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for the honor.
Bush scored one goal in eight games this fall for the Roos and during her three years she has been named a Sunrise Conference Scholar-Athlete and last year was the Outstanding Scholar Athlete in women’s basketball for earning the highest grade-point average among all women’s basketball players in the conference.
Bush is playing basketball again this winter and currently averages 4.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
