Student creates christening gown for Gabriel Project

POTSDAM – The Gabriel Project recently received a christening gown made by sewing student Hunter Wilson.

Gabriel Project is a national parish-based program which exists to help pregnant women both materially and spiritually. These needs are met with no charge to the mother.

Hunter said she was very excited to sew this garment for such special babies.

In photo, Kathy Wolfe, left, Gabriel Project volunteer from Norfolk, accepts the gown from Wilson. Sewing teacher Kathy Burns is at right.

The Diocese of Ogdensburg has 11 Gabriel Project parishes, including these in St. Lawrence County: St. Mary's in Potsdam 265-9520; St. James in Gouverneur 287-0114; St. Vincent de Paul Society in Massena 769-1200; and St. Patrick's in Brasher Falls 389-5401.
