Sen. Betty Little, right, greets Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul before the start of the 2016 session in the State Senate Chamber.
State Senator Betty Little, R-Queensbury, is chairing the Senate Housing, Construction and Community Development Committee for the 2016 legislative session.
Little previously chaired the Senate Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee.
In St. Lawrence County, Little’s district includes Parishville, Clare, Colton, Hopkinton and Piercefield.
“In the North Country, affordable housing has been an issue for many families given the pressure sometimes exerted by the second-home real estate market,” Little said.
“I also have a professional background in real estate. That said, I know there is a lot
to learn and I look forward to doing that.”
Little will continue to serve on the following committees: Crime Victims, Crime and Correction; Education; Energy and Telecommunications; Environmental Conservation; Finance; Health; and Rules.
