New York State Department of Environmental Conservation operated campgrounds in the Adirondack and Catskill Parks are officially open for the summer camping season.
In St. Lawrence County, that includes Coles Creek State Park on the St. Lawrence River near Waddington, Jacques Cartier State Park, also on the river, near Brier Hill, and Robert Moses State Park at Massena, Higley Flow State Park on the Raquette River at South Colton, Eel Weir State Park on the Oswegatchie River south of Ogdensburg, Cranberry Lake Campground on Cranberry Lake in the south of the county.
DEC operates 52 campgrounds and six day-use areas in the Adirondack and Catskill Forest Preserves. The summer camping season runs through Labor Day, with some facilities remaining open during fall foliage and hunting season. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and range from $18-$28 a night.
