CANTON -- St. Lawrence University is accepting nominations for its North Country Citation, which will be awarded at commencement this spring.
North Country Citations are presented to individuals in the six counties of northern New York (St. Lawrence, Lewis, Jefferson, Essex, Warren and Franklin) who, through professional endeavor or personal example, contribute in special ways to, improving the quality of life or fostering a sense of community in the region.
Any citizen of the North Country is eligible with the following exceptions: Individuals who worked in the area for a period of time and subsequently left the area; individuals whose professional accomplishments have benefited the North Country but who do not or have not resided in the North Country; and alumni and employees of the University.
The citation will be awarded at St. Lawrence’s Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
Confidential nominations, which should include the name, address, telephone number and brief profile of the nominee as well as contact information for the nominator, may be forwarded to:
