St. Lawrence County under wind chill warning; frigid Monday night expected, more snow Weds.

The National Weather Service has St. Lawrence County under a wind chill warning through this afternoon, warning that wind chill values could hit -35 degrees in some areas.

That is forecast to be followed by night temperatures predicted to hit lows around -20 degrees.

Meteorologists say Tuesday will bring a cloudy day with highs around 16 and lows at night around 11. Snow is predicted to start that night and possibly drop another 2 to 4 inches by Wednesday night. Wednesday temperatures are predicted with highs around 37 and lows around 28.

Snow showers are likely Thursday, NWS said, but they have not yet released a snowfall estimate. Temperatures that day are forecast to hit highs around 34 and lows around 13.

The detailed forecast for St. Lawrence County:

Monday - 

Light snow likely before 11am, then a chance of snow showers, mainly between 11am and 3pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny and cold, with a high near -3. Wind chill values as low as -31. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Monday night - Mostly clear, with a low around -20. Wind chill values as low as -33. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph.

Tuesday - Increasing clouds, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -35. South wind 3 to 6 mph.

Tuesday night - A 40 percent chance of snow showers after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 11. South wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday - Snow showers before 3pm, then rain and snow showers. High near 37. South wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Wednesday night - Rain showers before 9pm, then rain and snow showers between 9pm and 2am, then snow showers after 2am. Low around 28. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday - Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. West wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Thursday night - A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. West wind around 8 mph.

Friday - A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. West wind 7 to 11 mph.
