CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Industrial Development elected Brian W. Staples as chair, Ernest J. LaBaff as vice chair and Lynn Blevins as board secretary.

“Our level of project activity picked up over the second half of 2017 and has carried into this year,” IDA Chief Executive Officer Patrick J. Kelly said in a prepared statement. “There has been a healthy balance in terms of project size and locations throughout the county. We’re working to keep the pipeline busy and are optimistic that this pace will continue throughout this year and into next.”

The St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency is a public benefit corporation created by New York State legislation “to promote, encourage, attract and develop job opportunities and economically sound commerce and industry in St. Lawrence County. As a full-service development agency, the SLCIDA works to ensure that businesses and entrepreneurs make maximum use of the services available to help with the start-up, expansion and success of business operations in St. Lawrence County,” IDA said in a news release.

Other IDA board members include Mark Hall, Donald Hooper, Andrew McMahon, and Steven Morrill.
